Tony Lock and Graham Oakes are standing to be the Somerset Councillors for Yeovil East. Both are committed local campaigners and work hard to help people in our area.
Tony Lock has lived in the Yeovil area all his life and has 2 childen and 4 grandchildren. He worked for AgustaWestland for the majority of his working life and is now retired. Tony has been the councillor for Yeovil East and works hard to help local people and improve our area. Tony is always accessible to residents who need help and is currently working on the delivery of a new cycle and footpath on Lyde Road.
Graham Oakes has lived locally since 1968, and was educated in Yeovil. He trained as a nurse and since then he has managed a number of care homes. Graham is the leader of Yeovil Town Council where he has worked to make the council more responsive to local needs. He is most proud of the network of cardiac defibrillators the Town Council and its partners are installing across Yeovil.
During their time as councillors Tony and Graham have worked hard to protect local services and help residents with their issues and ideas. Tony and Graham are the only people who can beat the Conservatives in Yeovil East and stop further Conservative cuts.
The Lib Dem plan for our area
Protect local services
In the face of irresponsible Conservative Government and County Council cuts to our funding, Liberal Democrat run District Councils have prevented cuts to our vital local services.
Improve our environment
The Liberal Democrats are actively improving our environment. We are investing in local parks, planting trees, and promoting renewable energy across Somerset.
Invest in our communities
Liberal Democrat run District Councils are investing millions in Town Centres across Somerset. We have also invested in local community centres, theatres and are working to improve our parks and green spaces.
